Services for Seniors
Services for Seniors helped Harvey S. who has been
house-bound with severe back problems since the death of his wife.
Harvey S. needs Chapter Transportation to numerous
doctor's appointments since he had to temporarily give up his car. Living in
a second floor apartment has complicated life for Harvey in recent months,
but the Red Cross Grocery Shopping Service has made his life a little
easier.
Rides to Medical
Appointments

Seniors and others who
are unable to provide their own transportation to medical appointments.

Chapter volunteers who
provide rides.
To:
Medical facilities in
Darien and surrounding communities. Further destinations on a case by case
basis.
Guidelines:
- The Chapter office requires 48 business hours notice.
- Clients must be ambulatory.
Shopping for Seniors
For:
Home bound seniors
By:
Chapter Volunteers who do
shopping.
Guidelines:
- The Chapter office requires 48 business hours notice.
- Clients provide the shopping list and cash.
- Change is returned with the groceries and receipt.
- Long term or short term service is available
